The Meike 50mm f/1.8 is an autofocus Full Frame lens. It used to retail for under $160, now the price is up by $10 and it currently costs $169.99

Front Filter size is 58mm. It has 9 blades, giving us an ok bokeh.

But where it really shines is the overall image quality.

Already wide open we see an impressive center sharpness, good colors and contrast.

It is great for street photography and for portraits.

The minimum focusing distance is 2.1 ft / 63 cm

The optical design is 11 elements in 7 groups. because of it's price and performance it comes  HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

The Viltrox 20mm f/2.8 is an autofocus Full Frame lens that currently retails at only $158

Front Filter size is 52mm, and it is an absolute lightweight with only 5.5 oz / 157 g.

Already wide open we get a great center sharpness, good colors and contrast. The minimum focusing distance is only 7.5" / 19 cm and our angle of view 91.6°.

The optical design is 10 elements in 8 groups. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

My latest reviews:

35mm f/1.4 GM       35mm f/1.8

In this video I am testing the difference between the Sony 35mm f1.4 GM and the 50% cheaper Sony 35mm f1.8. This is not a sponsored video, I own both lenses and it is a hands on practical review.

The Sigma 50mm f/2 DG DN Contemporary is an amazing full frame lens.

It is a solid build, metal body with 11 elements in 9 groups, the filter size is 58mm.

Already wide open it offers an impressive sharpness. The focus is spot on, in photo and video mode. It delivers great colors and contrast, and it does not have distortions.

It is now my favorite 50mm and it comes HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

The Pergear 35mm f/1.4 fullframe lens is one of the cheapest ff lenses. Designed for full-frame Sony E-mount, Canon RF-mount, Nikon Z-mount and L-mount mirrorless cameras, but can also be used with APS-C models where it provides a 52.5mm equivalent focal length.

I personally would recommend to save up a bit more money to buy a lens with a better overall image quality

SONY e-mount    NIKON Z

The Viltrox 50mm f/1.8 fullframe lens impressed me.  The Viltrox 50mm F/1.8 AF lens is designed for both E-mount and Z-mount systems, offering smooth and quiet focusing performance with its STM stepper motor and allowing for stunning captures in low-light situations due to its large aperture.

The image quality is outstanding, great colors and sharpness, and a reliable AF makes this lens RECOMMENDED

SONY e-mount    CANON EF

The Meike 50mm f/1.2 fullframe lens is a fun lens to have  It is a low light king. Already wide open you can create interesting out of focus background images with a decent sharpness. The Lens construction is 12 elements in 7 groups, multi-layer coatings, which allow for a creamy bokeh.

The SONY 50mm f/1.8 fullframe lens is so much better now, after the firmware upgrade.

The AF is more precise and snappy, usable for photo and video work. The bokeh is a bit busy and despite a good sharpness, I find the images boring, they lack character. Still it gets the job done, it is not very expensive, and therefore comes

The SIGMA 105mm f/2.8 AF fullframe lens is one of the sharpest lenses I have ever tested that is not a GM lens. It focusses perfect, the bokeh is amazing and the image quality breathtaking.

The SONY 50mm f/1.2 GM AF full frame lens is the best 50mm lens I've ever  tested. The sharpness is great already at f/1.2. Colors and bokeh are impressive. However, the price is ridiculous and therefore it is hard to recommend it. If money doesn't matter, by any means, get it!

The Meike 85mm f/1.8 Designed for full-frame Sony E-mount, Canon RF-mount, Nikon Z-mount cameras it is the cheapest 85mm full frame AF lens you can buy.

Although wide open is suffers from CA's it has a decent overall image quality, sharpness, bokeh and the colors are quiet nice. Therefore it comes RECOMMENDED

If you're planning to travel with your Full frame camera, the  Tamron 28-200 F/2.8-5.6 Di III RXD

is the best travel companion you can have. It starts at f/2.8, which is unusual for super zooms.

The colors are beautiful and the sharpness is so much better than you'd expect from a super zoom.

Its RXD stepping motor is exceptionally quiet and accurate.

The SONY 35mm f/1.4 GM AF full frame lens is my all time favorite Sony lens.

The focus is impressive, so is the sharpness already wide open. Build quality, size and weight simply feel right on this lens and the image quality it delivers is outstanding.

Love it? Hate it? Wide open the TTArtisan 21mm f/1.5  is not usable at all. The image is too soft in the center and corners, the amount of CA's is unbearable, contrast and colors and not good. As soon as we stop it down to f/2 it get so much better and at f/2.8 is another great improvement.
